DRAGON HOTEL {Sapa, VN}
I hardly ever write reviews, because it never gives an objective description of the hotel. After visiting the Sapa Dragon Hotel, I told myself that this hotel would deserve my very first review on Tripadvisor.
Early check-in was possible, because it wasnt high-season i guess. I was welcomed with a delicious tea upon my arrival. After a friendly welcome by Mr. Tung and a quick check-in i got the key to room 205. A spaceous and lovely decorated double room with a modern and "chic" bathroom. This was more than i was expecting.
After my hiking trips, getting back to the hotel, i mostly got a free delicious tea. Best tea i had in a long time. I should have asked for the brand!
Checking-out was a blast. They would allow me to get a shower when picking up my luggage later in the evening. Very convenient if you want to do some last hiking around the city before leaving town. Free tea again and a free bottle of water for the road! SUPER lovely staff. Havent experienced this for a long time.
When the hotel Manager booked a shuttle ride to the Lao Cai station, I didn't have a change to pay the reservation ticket. But they confirmed me, it would be ok, and that I wouldn't need to pay the full price. Of course the shuttle-ticket was a bargain! I felt so bad, that I was out of change.
The only thing I was missing was a heater to dry the wet clothes.. but that's ok.
I will definitely turn back to the Dragon hotel if i end up in Sapa again someday. It's located 3 minutes walking distance from the main square... so you won't be bothered by the hmong hunters who will ask you endless times to "do shopping".
The location of the hotel is very good, even though on my arrival, it looked like "Dragon Hotel" was out of the neighbourhood. But it wasn't. All the hotels are located very central in Sapa. And I can't imagine, that any hotel manager would be as kind as Mr. Tung.
The english skills of the whole crew was totally fine! This staff made my experience in Sapa even more enjoyable, and i'm very thankful for the way I was welcomed at the "Dragon Hotel".
